This project contains a total of nine sub-items. These were divided into two parts for promotion activities and administrative operations. The project hopes to enhance public environmental ethics and responsibilities, and to popularize the concept of sustainable urban development by promoting the environmental education with distinctive local characteristics. The results of the implementation are summarized below:
First, promotion activities includes as follows:
1. On April 15, more than 450 participants attended the environmental education campaign in conjunction with the Earth Day in Dong-Shih Hakka Cultural Park. A total of 251 participants participated in 10 batches of "Green cycling trip".
2. On June 4, a total of more than 221 people attended the environmental education campaign in conjunction with the World Environment Day in Natural Way Six Arts Cultural Center. There were 10 batches of field experience learning activities with a total of 405 participants.
3. We set up an environmental education van and purchase 100 books (included pictorial books) and 2 tabletop games. On May 11, the first event for environmental education van has been held with a total of 143 participants. Follow-up for all activities, there were 51 appearances and a total of 5,534 participants.
4. We held 3 batches of environmental education design workshops with a total number of 181 participants.
5. On September 23, the preliminary race of the Environmental Knowledge Contest for Taichung City has been held at Chi-Yuan Hall of Feng-Chia University. The number of participants was more than 400.
6. We also held 10 sessions of Environmental Education Lifelong Learning Passport promotion activities at municipal colleges and universities. A total of 340 passports were activated in these 10 sessions.
7. From July to August, 10 echelon summer camps of “Environmental Missions” have been held at different environmental sites, and missions were in conjunction with different environmental issues in order to give children a deeper impression of environmental protection. All of summer camp with a total of 401 students attended. After summer camps the completion and certification ceremony have been held with more than 258 participants at the new municipal building on August 27.
8. We received a total of 17 drama scripts about environmental protection on April 26.
Second, administrative operations includes as follows:
1. We held 3 counseling briefing sessions with a total number of 181 participants.
2. In 2016, there has in line with the 2 principles above a total of 155 units in Taichung City. We randomly selected 70 units for field counseling on May 3 to June 21, 2017.
3. On May 26, we completed the selection review conference for US-Taiwan Eco-campus Partnership Program, and selected 10 schools on behalf of Taichung City. These contain Sha-Lu Junior High School and Elementary Schools included Da-Keng, Gi-Fon, Hsi-Ning, Dong-Hai, Ka-Li, Hui-Wen, Shen-Gang, Shin-Sheng, Wu-Feng. Follow-up, we counseling 1 school to obtain silver certification and 9 schools obtain bronze certification.
